would easily serve 3.

6 slices stale bread (left out overnight on a rack is best, 1/2 inch thick would be best if possible)

1/2 cup milk

1/2 cup cream

2 tablespoons honey

3 teaspoons cinnamon

3 eggs

large pinch of salt

preheat oven to 190C/370F.

beat eggs & salt, beat in milk & cream, beat in honey & cinnamon. strain/decant this mixture into a pan large enough to fit bread without squishing. soak bread in mixture, 30 seconds on each side. remove to a wire rack and let sit for at least a full minute before frying.

fry each side with a little butter until deep golden brown, and remove back to wire rack until entire batch is fried. place toasts into oven, either on rack or directly onto oven shelf for 5 minutes, before removing, and serving immediately with butter and maple syrup.

i’m going to be attempting to write my own 2d-skeletal-animation-library- i believe i’ve figured out the overall structure of things, and how to handle z-ordering (while i’m not sure it’s the most efficient way, it’s definitely simple to understand/implement).

with that in mind, i was vaguely leaning towards some kind of custom written file format to handle them, until i remembered reading about google’s protobuf (which is almost done building in MSYS at last), which will have the added advantage of being a piece of piss to expand on should i need to later. i look forward to starting to hack away at this.

i’ve also set up crossposting to LJ. *waves to LJ*

I just got bored of trying to figure out how to load up a PNG image into an opengl texture.

I’ve also ditched Visual C#/C++ in favour of Code::Blocks with MinGW. so far, the only gripes i have with it are code completion’s a little messy (i’ve really gotten used to the silky way it works in VC#), and during debugging, it sets the working directory of a program to be the directory that the project file resides in, not the executable itself. this messes with my head a bit.

The show was being held in a dollar store, and featured comedy from some guy dressed as a Merlin type figure, wearing a massively oversized moustache, and a wizard hat and robe.

After I realized I hadn’t packed any clothes (or anything at all for that matter), and the wizard guy slammed a piano on the stage and started wailing on it in a song called “Critical Losers”, I woke up in a cold sweat.

Probably got a lot to do with my forgetting to remove the nicotine patch last night.

A YouGov poll in the Daily Telegraph suggests 22% of people questioned would “seriously consider” voting BNP.

That’s an awful lot, especially with a voter turnout of ~60% at the last general election.

More than 240 complainants to the BBC felt the show was biased against the BNP, while more than 100 complaints were about Mr Griffin being allowed to appear on Question Time.

That’s right- more than double the number of people were annoyed at the railing against him than were annoyed at him.
