i’m going to be attempting to write my own 2d-skeletal-animation-library- i believe i’ve figured out the overall structure of things, and how to handle z-ordering (while i’m not sure it’s the most efficient way, it’s definitely simple to understand/implement).

with that in mind, i was vaguely leaning towards some kind of custom written file format to handle them, until i remembered reading about google’s protobuf (which is almost done building in MSYS at last), which will have the added advantage of being a piece of piss to expand on should i need to later.   i look forward to starting to hack away at this.
